To prevent staining to model from dyes, smells etc. in general apply a litttle oil to skin areas in contact with dye, it prevents skin staining and also helps stop 'tide mark' effect.
I'ts just like when handling garlic or fish, if you don't want to wear gloves, just apply olive oil to hands, this prevents skin smelling later, easy to wash off, a tip given to me by a chef.

Tesco's own kids black paint works a treat! thanks everyone! especially the model, mind the grouting though, this is the only thing that stains!
