Adding mouse-over events for image details is a tiny improvement when I'm on a PC but more and more I'm using my phone and in future a tablet.
This mode of access will be more and more popular and mouse-over events don't exist. You have to start removing any dependence on mouse-over events.
I would REALLY much prefer the information on display with the pictures. It's not a gallery, it's a record of work. It's an indication of achievement and I want to know how it was achieved and when.

We have released a hotfix to address various issues related to the recent March 2011 Site Update. Below is a list of the changes and fixes that have been put into place: Portfolios The mouseover thumbnail tooltips have been completely rewritten. Issues with the tooltip being pushed off the screen has been fixed. Now, if the tooltip does not have enough room on the right side to display the window, it will popup on the left side of the thumbnail. Tooltip now displays properly with Internet Explorer. The tooltip window has been reskinned. We have added a "Classic" thumbnail listing mode for those users that prefer not to use the new tooltip feature. This feature is available to all membership levels and can be toggled via the Edit Preferences page. The Report Portfolio/Image button is now correctly positioned in Chrome and Firefox. A bug causing the paging for the References and Worked With sections of the portfolios to not display correctly has been fixed. After posting an image comment, the page now correctly places the user to the new comment.

When I post a reply it still returns to top of page instead of the new post.

Well done on picking up and actioning so many of the issues raised James. One further point for consideration - I find the references in the pop up box are virtually unreadable as they are in purple text on a dark background. Changing the reference to a lighter text would be a big help - especially for those of us with eyesight problems.

The classic view still offers less information than previously, however, unless I'm doing it wrong? In that sense, still not optimal.

I've just switched to classic view and I reckon that is the single best addition. It give the date and the references, and that is mostly all I want to see. Added with the larger thumbnails, I won't be clicking on many images because of the slow page loading, until the popup is fixed (I have tha option checked still, but they don't open in popups).

The new tooltip works much better now with phones and tablets. On the IPad, for example, the first click on the thumbnail will popup the tooltip, while the second click will take you to the larger version of the image. Quoting TerryDraper:

What browser/version are you using? Also, do you happen to know if Javascript is enabled? Quoting RoninUK:

We are still fine tuning the tooltip window. I will be sure to get something added to make it appear a little clearer. Quoting OMalley:

We decided to leave out the Image Category and Adult Content flags with the Classic mode because it added too much clutter to the new layout. This information is available in the Tooltip mode. Sincerely, James Hussein Managing Member, Net-Model, LLC.

Adding a Title to an image does not work on initial upload - title is blank.
Does work if added via Edit.

Thanks Terry. I was able to reproduce the problem and I'll get a fix online as soon as I identify where the issue is. To check if Javascript's enabled within Firefox: Tools > Options > Content Tab > Enable Javascript field Sincerely, James Hussein Managing Member, Net-Model, LLC.

Hi James I'm pleased that it is not just me. Yes javascript is enabled. Terry Remember, when you're reading other peoples thoughts on your own work, or giving others your thoughts on theirs: "There is no right or wrong in photography. It's just your opinion!".

Hi James,
feel free to ignore my original post below-just realised the two portfolios I'd 'tested' on were of photographers who didn't credit the models. I've since noted that names, where credited, do appear.
cheers,
Sean
Hi James,
ref your March 31st post, can you confirm when-if ever-the 'classic view' will have all the information that used to be immediately visible, including model/photographer name.
From my perspective, this isn't purely about look, but the functionality of a site. In the past, if I were interested in working with a model, I might wish to check out their images taken by other photographers. A quick scoot through the 'worked with' list would tell me other photographers they'd worked with. I could then go to their portfolio, and do a search for the models name. Easy. Similarly, if I want to show someone an image which I have taken of a particular model, previously I could just do a quick search for my name on her portfolio. No longer. I have to look through the whole portfolio to find my image.
Now, that 'search' functionality isn't available to me at all. Regardless of aesthetics, the site is less functional than previously, and offers me less value for money. It needn't, though-I'd just welcome the same functionality as previously as an option.
thanks,
Sean
