I believe that the biggest failing of this site are first the resizing of Pictures , necessary to display them on here. Most Models do not , nor do they want, the knowledge to do this.Lots of Photographers, me included, cannot be bothered to resize photos from Modern DSLRs down to sizes more suited to camera phones of a few years ago.Since lots of other sites can resize pictuires for clients why cannot NM?
The Second big moan has been since I joined the site , that half the models on here are not on here. They joined and then forgot about NM. The Rules say they will be removed after a set time, but they are not .
The same also of course applies to Photographers, and I guess all the other possible categories of Membership.
The layout and colour scheme are adequate, but the above two items , really do cause a lot of discontent. Young Models are not going to spend a lot of time trying to make Photos fit on here when most other sites resize for them. They have so many better things to do with their time., so they go to other sites to display their work.

Most models receiving images from photographers are getting them at the correct size for this and other sites, so that is not really an issue. One or two upload monster pics, but hey, that gives a rare chance of a close up There is the occasional photographer who doesn't resize images. I don't get the can't be bothered to resize bit, it is in your interest to do it and it takes seconds to do it. If you leave it to a site's resizing process, you may find it screws other aspects of the image. The time you take saving an image to a good size, arguably 600px to 800px on longest edge, will be more than made up by faster upload times

Matt -- I beg to differ with you as well. (Yes, I'm a right old beggar this morning.) How often have you seen huge images uploaded and how often have you seen a new member asking how to resize a pic? Quite often, methinks. So my take on it is that a lot of newcomers do not know how to resize. Yes - resizing might affect image quality, but I don't think a lot of newcomers are aware of that. So I do think that a resizing facility would be useful. Dare I say that two other sites I know of routinely resize over-large pics? So I imagine it's not a bank-breaker.

But! Has it occurred to you that the main reason this place is collapsing is you lot, you're the one's leaving not the site owners. Why are you all leaving? Mostly chasing the models! Why aren't the models staying? Mostly because there's no money here for them, nobody pays, not because the site isn't pretty.
That's pretty much spot on. No model has mentioned to me anything about site design, image restrictions or the like. They always mention chancers, pervy guys and nobody wanting to pay them.

I wasn't questioning the need for such a facility, I was questioning someone saying they can't be bothered to resize it. I think he was talking about an automatic resize on upload.

Some people still have a slow connection or use a mobile connection so a simple low bandwidth / graphics site is better.
However the grey colour scheme certainly needs changing.

Anyway... the trouble is it's just a lot harder now to justify spending money on anything, even relatively small sums, and I'm afraid this place might just have to be one of the things that has to fall by the wayside.
And fall by the wayside it has... I'm back to free membership for now.
