Never left but I haven't been shooting in a long while. Hope to change that in the not too distant future.

Hey !!

I'll be back here - even if to soak up the informality and good humour / banter that I remembered for at least half a decade (or a bit more).

I'll not knock 'the other place' - technically it is quite something - but has now alas got so large (and the world of photography and modelling has moved on too) .... all culminating in far too much 'noise'. Too many people fighting for attention. The homepage is the inverse of this place recently + many resort to shock tactics or click bait just to desperately keep floating near the top*

*at this point ON ANY SITE ... i tend not to be much interested in taking part AT ALL.

What I loved about the NM community back in the early, mid (and to a lessening degree latter part) of the naughties (00s) - was the sense of community and certain people certainly NOT taking themselves too seriously!

A lot less sense of entitlement + a lot more people wanting to get together for fun (not JUST all about he imagery and trying to massively fast-track themselves).

I remember some years where I arranged more TF based shoots than was really sensible (or quality control sensible anyway) ... sometimes 2 or 3 a week (and ceratinly at least several most months) Happy Days !!

It's been a long time since then (and yes things move on). Some have concluded that the old NM era has been and gone (as with other websites for different hobbies or resources, that once felt special, small, inclusive .... almost 'local' - if that makes sense?).

Well I hope that we might have a re-birth of websites an deven vaguely 'old-school' pre-social media, social 'something' sites again

Yes it seems a whole different era looking back but then of course I guess it was. Probably me but I seem to remember it as less 'Hey look at me' and more a community. Help for those asking for it with short shrift if you played the big I am or tried any of nonsense there seems so much of at times now.

Happy days.

Take a look at:

http://www.net-model.com/Forums/ReadThread.asp?ThreadID=1947292

SEE, SEE, TOLD YOU. YOU CAN START BREATHING AGAIN NOW

You all now have to believe EVERYTHING I say.

That camera is better than that camera. Brexit is a .... Film is better than digital. The list is endless and I will crow about this for AGES!!!

On a more serious note. Please spread the word among existing NM members who may not have seen this thread, The better the feedback James gets, the more he will be able to sort things. Stuff that is not reported, will risk being missed.

Also spread the news elsewhere so that people who may want to join us are able to. I think that the best approach there will be to join the OLD version.

Keep fighting, folks.

This could easily be a thread from 2008, with very well recognisable faces!

Here's to the new dawn!

Welcome back folks.

I suspect there will not follow a period of frustration while Escape finishes off the new iteration. There is still a lot of work left to do and he is rushing around with a dust pan and brush sweeping up lost nuts and bolts and sweety wrappers as we speak.

Bear with us and all will come good soonish. Better to get it right rather than launch a little early.

Please spread the word. Both among old NM friends and potential new members. It might be best if new members hang fire and join the new site. Then Escape does not have to transfer them!

There was far more people interested in creating images for the sake of being part of the creative team back then.

These days it seems it's far more about the money.

I never really left.
I give the site a look every few days, sometimes I log in.
Nothing really changes.
As a tester I used to put up castings, only to monitor how long they would stay on the front page before being pushed off by newer castings?
Over a month on occasions.

It would be really nice for this website to go through a revival.

I am still around though like many have not visited in quite a while: nice to see so many familiar names but they do mostly seem to be photographers: are we going to point our cameras at each other ?

Find at least one mod and she can do a gauntlet run between two lines of togs ... ?

Need: dry ice for fog effect, color gels, baby-oiled mod, sense of humor ...

I don't think it would take very many photographers to be positing on here before models saw a market and were more active on here.

Photographers do need to post though so that some activity can be seen.

Completely agree. I have made contact with a new model just recently. We will be shooting in the near(ish) future. The only reason for the delay is my lack of cash. Even though she is being very reasonable.

Good to see you active again Ace.

I'm not quite understanding Jeremy.

I've never stopped being active, running Circles comp for the last five years plus and now my own. i still shoot 50 weeks a year but most of it is client work so doesn't appear here or in the other purple place.

You are right in one aspect, I am doing more personal projects and spending more time here in the hopes that it will generate posts and in turn that will generate more interest.

I hope you are well and good to see that you have shoots lined up.

And I with you Jeremy!

What we need is a few more folk to write on these pages and not just read, leaving the writing to others.

I’d be tempted to make a comeback

I’ve missed this site and it would be awesome to resurrect the old Bunker shoots and the Brighton Group Shoots ????

It’s such a shame it died but nice to see a few familiar names on this thread

Just looked at my portfolio and think I’d better add some new images, those are really dated!

It would be good to see you back and you could join in the 3x3 competition and help keep things moving.

As a general thought to everyone who has posted here, if they started or posted on a thread this site would soon come alive.

The Terry Draper approach of "I may pop back in a few months to see if it has picked up" is going to make it happen. If people want to see the site liven up, they have to liven up and participate.
