Concept. This is a shared shoot in a country house which is primarily used as a wedding venue but also for photography, filming, conferences and private events. It is a very up-market venue and will provide a rare opportunity for photographers and models alike. We will have exclusive use for the duration of the event. There are a limited number of places available to photographers, who will need to supply their own models and make whatever arrangements they choose regarding remuneration. If two photographers wish to share a place they may do so, but each will need to pay the £5 fee which primarily covers refreshments as we are not permitted to bring our own food and drink. Similarly, a model may book a place and then charge one or more photographers to work with her. If MUAs wish to offer their services they are welcome to do so, they would need to pay the £5 fee and make whatever financial arrangements they wish with photographers and models.

Photography. Staff at the venue are used to photography so nothing we do should surprise them. Nudity is permitted, including in the grounds which have no public access although staff may be working around the house and buildings. However, we should ensure that the images we produce do not discredit the venue, so nothing pornographic or tacky.

Attendance. As places are limited some people wishing to attend may be disappointed, but we believe that it is important to strike the right balance between keeping costs down and avoiding people getting in each others’ way. In order to ensure a happy and successful event we will want to ensure that those attending are of good reputation – by reputation we mean nice people not necessarily the most experienced photographers. If more people wish to attend than the venue can comfortably accommodate then we may have to be selective, or pick names out of a hat. Hopefully we will have a good mix of people of varying skills and levels of ability. If this goes well then we may well organise another one so more people get a chance to come along.

Payment. Payment will be required in advance (date to be notified) and will not be refundable unless the place can be allocated to someone else – sorry, but I can’t afford to end up out of pocket on this.

Models and MUAs wishing to offer their services to photographers attending may also post here and I will produce coordinated lists immediately below this post for ease of reference. can you advise on what the benefit of paying for a model place would be rather then just being on the list for photographers to hire? Surely if a model gets some interest from being on the list of possibles she has no need to pay for a spot? If there is no interest then there would be no point in booking a spot, no?

For now put me on the non-spot list -seeing as I'm just down the road!
