I always take a pack or 2 to shoots and saw in the "More Lighting" thread the free Jaffa cakes. Are Jaffa cakes the industry standard snack for photoshoots? If you don't buy Jaffa cakes, what other snacks are purchased for shoots? Incite/views welcome

Jaffa Cakes - yukkkkkkkkkk. Can't stand the sodding things. I usually ask models to bring me Mr.Kipling Almond Slices or Kit-Kats, but home made bread pudding is also a very acceptable form of currency.

I guess that would depend on the model and if you'd rather forget the experience

I'm more than happy with just a cuppa and I find it odd if the photographer doesn't accept one when I offer.
There's 2 cups of tea made in my house:
NATO standard BRUM standard.
If I'm on location I tend to take my own snacks which will normally be anything from the cupboards. However home shoots I've normally got at least a cake made that I offer.
(probably why I cant seem to tone up...too much home made cake :D )

As you say yes NATO is milk and 2, BRUM standard is milk and no sugar
but every so often we get the odd WM (west midland) standard which is no milk and 2 sugars....but thats rarely and the only reason they dont get kicked out is because they're family :P

Living out here in the sticks, milk can be nicked direct from the cows. But if that doesn't sound too appetizing, there's an old trick... Get the milk straight from the cow and put it in a container, then wave the container back and forth in front of your face. Then you'll have past-your-eyes milk. (I'll get me coat...)

If you're treading a womans figure you're doing it wrong :-) Jaffa cakes...don't break as easy as other biscuits, don't squishy as easy as cake so great for location shoots....and in the winter it's spiced apple juice not tea when in the middle of a field in the snow

Err...everyone that visits Matt's takes Roofies to try and forget the experience ! That way it's like the first time every time Caution: Internet message boards are not a playground for the hyper-sensitive. NOTHING here (especially my 'attitude') should be taken too seriously.

I always encourage models to bring with them a big mac meal with a tropicana orange as the drink and an extra quarter pounder with cheese when they come to me for a shoot. As far as what they want to bring for themselves is purely up to them.

And you, Matt Harper.....not even with rohypnol Circles on the other hand...what a gentleman....quiche, orange juice, coffee, tea, fruit.....everything a lady could wish for. As long as there's sugar free red bull, I don't mind. I have been known to demolish a packet (or two) of jaffas without too much trouble though...
Best wishes ~Rin

I didn't take any Jaffa Cakes to our shoot, but I did bring along some hedgehog and manglewurzel sandwiches (a sought-after local delicacy). I had even made sure that it was low-fat, low-calorie manglewurzel but, even so, for some reason that I cannot fathom, she declined. No appreciation of regional cuisine, these teenagers.
