Just wondering, obviously everyone has their own way to look their best, what is yours

While I appreciate your comment this, was more geared towards models, for starters. Secondly I also find your comment rather... harsh as I recieved your message on the 1st, didn't reply to it as I had an essay due, and then was checking my finances to see if I could work something out. You'll excuse my delay, please.

Additionally, it does say in my profile I am unable to travel at the moment.

Kind regards,
Alexandra

Alexandra -- don't worry. Some people get very precious if a model doesn't jump to attention and reply immediately to correspondence.

Shoot routine? From a photographer's point of view, I check that the model has a pulse.

Point 1: have I got my camera? I once drove some 20 miles, halfway to a shoot, complete with model, huge quantities of Victorian clothing and plenty of camera related gear, but no camera.

That sounds hilarious, how did you explain that?

Night before:

First and foremost - ensure you have address and contact details, assuming you've already confirmed still going ahead

Check have everything as agreed, pack spare stockings and hold ups (natural and black), additional black and white undies and spare shoes.
Prep make up and hairspray etc ready for morning (also ready to pack).
Bath, thorough cleanse and moisturise, make sure nails are filed and no old polish left on etc.
Put hair masque on, get a good nights sleep, no alcohol (unless we're at Harpers but that doesn't count!).

Morning:
Shower, do hair and make up, pack last minute stuff and off I go

Always via McD's for a large cappuccino for en route

Same routine wherever I'm going.

The greater the artist, the more dopey high-minded and detached from reality... :o)

Seriously though, my model was very understanding, a useful characteristic in somebody about to be chained to a (very disused) railway track.

Mine is mainly the day before. Clearing off any images loitering on my memory cards and charging batteries.

On the day....pack it all into the car and head to shoot....after repeated compulsive checks to ensure the camera is, in fact, packed. Even been known to stop about 100 yards from home to check again :-)

I write down the photographers name, mobile and also all my travel details if travelling (times, changes etc) 1st

Then when it comes to getting ready I have a shower, make sure I'm all shaved and moisturized. Take time doing my make up, concentrating on the eye make up especially, make sure I do all my hair properly - and dye the roots if needed! (instead of taking 2 mins to straighten it like on a normal day, lol) & go through my boxes, drawers and wardrobes to find outfits, clothing and shoes etc

Pretty simple

I'd add a few more things that you might want to do depending on the shoot.

Tell someone where you are going and when you will be back.

If shooting nudes, don't wear anything tight as they will leave marks in your skin.

Wow I feel really unprepared!

I always forget something mainly an outfit sometimes my shoes. I'm useless at remembering but lucky the togs have humour and see the funny side.

I always shower no one wants a smelly model ha. I've experienced this myself I do try to remember to pack all outfits and I get all details of the tog including number I also text them first thing to make sure all is still ok as I hate a let down just before a shoot. If they haven't text back within an hour or two I tend to not get hopes up as a few haven't turned up.

Oh and cookies! I always make cookies or sweets night before. Though on last shoot my partner stole the cakes and took them to work

Raisin cookies are why I have trust issues.

A plea to models to include this in their preparation:

If you are doing a nude or topless shoot, don't wear tight underwear to the shoot which will leave elastic marks. It takes a good half hour for knicker and bra lines to fade

* Photographer details and address in my phone.
* Exchange phone numbers well in advance.

The evening before the shoot
* Shower, exfoliate, epilate (if between waxes) and wash hair.
* Dry off, moisturise all over (I don't use fake tan).
* dry and curl hair if needed. E.g victory rolls took me all night to curl my hair and get them into shape, had to sleep with the rolls in and neaten them up in the morning.
* Pack case with outfits, undies, spare stockings & shoes.
* Early night (I don't drink very much anyway so not getting drunk is a given).

Morning of the shoot
* Get up, have breakfast and a cup of tea (essential to wake me up).
* Get dressed and put my makeup on. (basic makeup or more elaborate depends on what I've agreed with photographer about arrival and start time etc).
If shooting at mine either me or my partner makes tea or coffee. My partner has even made a bacon sandwich for a photographer who travelled quite some way to shoot with me at home.
* Program sat nav and drive to shoot
* Arrive and show outfits that I have brought, discuss order of shooting.
* More makeup if necessary.
* Get changed.
and begin

Could it be like you and her are basic members and have limited messages a day !

Unfortunately Cupcake has also contended with perverts on this site make rude and crude requests of a sexual nature

I am surprised that she has stuck with the site with those and your comments.

We are all grown ups, if a model forget or even chooses not to reply live with it move on and find another model.
