I'm sitting here in my office in the South East of England watching the rain fall like it's never going to stop and wondering about all the people with shoots and events planned.

Has it ruined your shoot/day? What was your shoot, did you go ahead anyway or what was your plan B?

It hasn't affected me because it's just another working day for me and I'm editing.

I hardly ever do shoots outside my home studio, but today I had a new model (as in new to modelling) who wanted some outdoor shoots, the shoot was to happen in a park with secluded areas, but the weather scrapped that idea. I wouldn't say the rain ruined a shoot, I see it as an opportunity to fine tune the ideas I had which thankfully I did as there were a few flaws in my plans. So now I'm at the pc writing this and wondering which images to remove from my portfolio to upload a few newer images, or maybe just remove them all and reduce them in size in order to have more (which is gonna be so looooong).

Really felt sorry for the folks at Notting Hill Carnival today but it looks like they had a good time despite the weather

Didn't affect me at all: my 'model' turned up on time at 9 oclock but then she went off to Exeter for the rest of the day and I had an excellent lunch with my wife at some friends before meeting my model again for a couple more locations in the evening. The rain actually helped to create sn stmospheric series of shots. Alas it will be the last time I shoot her for a while as she is going away for an extended period of surgery.

In case you were wondering how the shoot came out here is a shot of her at Kintbury in the evening. The surgery is a complete overhaul including retubing the boiler and is needed every seven years to run on Network Rail lines.

Hmmm,
It's about time I had my tubes overhauled, old age doesn't come by itself unfortunately :-(

Nice shot.

Mike.

Thanks for the stories and shots...any more?

This is from the horrendously wet 2011 August Bank Holiday.
