Okay, recently I have had a few " photographers" adding me to my MSN messenger. Some of which are genuine, but 8/10 of them want me to go on cam?! Ok I haven't been modelling or been in contact with photographers recently- has this become a new genuine thing now? To proove that you are actually the model who you say you are? Well thats the excuse they have been giving me. Has anyone had this problem recently? As I have actually had one photorapher call me a STUPID GIRL!! -all because I wouldn't "proove" I am Scarlett!! Also photographers what's your views on this- do you expect models to go on cam so you know that they are who they say they are? Replies would be much appreciated. Thanks *+*+*+*18 on the 15th of June*+*+*+*

Sounds like a stupid excuse to me Thats why I never really give out my msn details to many people, not worth the hassle half the time

These folk are definitely not worth worrying about Scarlett. Who the hell do they think they are expecting you to be on show to the public 24hr. That is what your portfolio is for. A model turns it on for the camera at a shoot and should not be expected to do the same at home as well, unless she is getting paid for it ...... which is a whole different type of modelling!! The last thing I would want is a webcam on me unless maybe it is hooking up with relatives in the US but we have not even bothered with that. Looking forward to seeing you very soon Regards Keith

Thank you all for posting and letting me know- I am just so glad the webcam thing isn't a new way to make sure a model is genuine- if it was that would mean I have to put make up on, and straighten my hair EVERDAY just to sit at the pc and check my emails lol!! Thank you Shaun, I can have my funny times but I know I am not stupid lol- Lee said hi also. I think my msn addings are increasing because I am 18 in a few days. I have a good plan I am going to search all of their msn's on here and if they bother me again I will name and shame their net-model account. Scarlett

My advice to all models is to REMOVE any messenger/e-mail addresses from this site, as it leaves it open to abuse. This site is viewed by people who are not in the industry at all.. we all know that
Replace it with "please ask" then you are in control of who messages you.

Sadly until you can send a 'spike' down the line to fry their computers, you are better off not adding real-time communications links to your profile imho... Proove who you say you are indeed. Pressumably they'd turn on a webcam to proove their hands were above the table?

Wow, the things some people will do *shakes head* Reading that shocked me, but at the same time it's still believable. People have already offered some very good advice. I'm definately keeing my msn to myself.

Don't get me wrong even the genuine photographers add me on MSN rather than net-mailing me- I don't want to take my MSN off just incase hardly anyone will contact me again- does that make sense? Last time I took my MSN I had no one mailing me what so ever. Well I am 18 tommorrow, so I will probably have more than normal genuine and fake interest so I might just state my email on my portfolio rather than my MSN- that way no one can invite me to send webcam to proove how big my boobs are!!! Also for some strange reason even when my webcam isn't plugged it the webcam sign stays there??? But I think my most sensible bet is to only allow photographers to contact me via email or net-mail.

I'm sure in MSN options you can choose not to let people know you have a webcam Hope this helps TTFN Savannah

Say 'But I can't put my webcam on cos I'm in my sheer black teddy neglige with pink little bows, and nothing else underneath' then block them. ..works for me --- I type like the way I live - fast with lots of mistakes

That happened to me a few days ago, he kept sending invites to see my cam. I asked him where he got my msn from and he told me that he was a photographer and got it from alternativemodels. I wish I could take myself off that site because I've had nothing but perverts contacting me but I'm not sure how...

I prefer to arrange shoots over email anyway as i have a record of the details of the shoot but i have a seperate msn for modelling work that i only really log in to when someone asks me to discuss finer details, for example costumes which may require a more chat like environment. And i dont advertise any of my msn emails or use webcam.

James (escape) has advised that they are looking into allowing models to filter their MSN addresses on their portfolios, a bit like the Adult tag on images. I assume this will allow only subscribed togs to see your MSN quoted on your portfolio and blocking it from all the casual viewers.
