If the red navigation is hard for you to see, then spare a thought for those (inc. me) that have poor colour vision.

Would like to see more models getting involved to give a good number of views from both sides of the camera.

Well said that man.

There will probably now follow a period of frustrating quiet and apparent inaction. Escape has a lot to do and we might not see the action that is going on behind the scenes.

May I beg members to, not only, keep the faith but to make noises in appropriate places and encourage more and more people to get involved. Right now that is probably best aimed at old members (of all kinds). The time to attract new members will be coming soon.

I have gone a very pretty shade of puce.
There have been some additional setbacks but we ARE getting there. After the debacle that was the Pure Storm relaunch. Followed by it's rapid demise, it is doubly important that we are truly ready when we launch. So we do not launch early and fall flat on our face.
You may now all have three minutes of free breathing before sucking in for a few weeks!!!

The PureStorm débâcle was entirely of their own making, in that they overhyped it beforehand and under-delivered in terms of functionality.
I would have encouraged James to have rolled out smaller changes incrementally, such that the site would evolve over time where possible. Then a "big bang" launch of a re-built site for the big stuff would actually have had an established customer base and some momentum behind it.

Thankfully James has ignored that advice. (You are not the first) What you are suggesting is he waste hours and hours and hours on trying to update a hopelessly out of date site infrastructure. Work that would then be abandoned once the new site came live. If it ever did because instead of building it he spent his time trying to bail out a collander.

This site framework is finished. From memory and I joined not long after it was created but left for a couple of years, this site is constructed using now long obsolete off the shelf forum software James then adapted to create NM. For some time James did what you are suggesting and tried to update the site on the back of this original design until realising it was a fools errand. All the issues people grumble about with this site are issues that could not be fixed as they are part of the core structure. Remember too that core coding languages do not stay still either whether PHP or ASP or ASPx. New features get added, support for old coding dropped.

Deciding to create a new site from scratch was absolutely the right decision as was not wasting any more time on this creaking fossil. Yes it has been going on for an absurd amount of time if you go back to when Escape last talked about an update but that is water under the bridge now. There is a new site. James is very active on it with regular updates as he works through both his own list and those bugs or tweaks suggested by beta testers.

Meantime we all know how this site works so there is nothing to stop any of us posting and seeking to make the site a little more active. WE have even had a couple of new models join recently. Ones with pictures. Perhaps say hi to them
