To best characterize myself I'm going to quote a review written about me recently.
Jeff Cowell - Photographic Pilgrim
To those who know Jeff Cowell well, it makes perfect sense that he would fall in love with the great expanses of the American West and Midwest. He is essentially a pilgrim who left his native New England, with it's great Atlantic Ocean expanses, to explore the seemingly endless vistas of the great rolling Inland Sea. His fascination with the beauty of the land and the grandeur of the constantly changing weather of the Great Plains has caused him to make some of the most dramatic weather-oriented photographs ever produced. Although he has mastered several photographic styles and embraces many different interesting subjects, he is in his favorite environment when the skies open wide and nature exhibits its power in the strongest and most dramatic manner. As his photographic skills have continued to increase, Jeff Cowell has found even more wonderful ways to share with us the awe he feels when he is personally confronted with the amazingly grand, awesomely powerful and very majestic presence of The Great Unknown.
