What a cool idea for a thread! As RussB says, the white background is found in every studio. It's so versatile with careful lighting can be virtually anything you want it to be. Yet, so many people find it difficult to work with.  I know it took me years to manage a decent high key portrait and if I'm honest, I'm not that comfortable with my results even now. I've got a lot of white background shots including masses of E-Commerce work but here is one from a first test shoot with a new lifestyle model. [image]1385890[/image]

A couple from a PR shoot. I like the neutrality of white, although it's bright it doesn't seem to distract you from looking at the subject and allows the advertising guys to apply type really easily. [image]1387238[/image] By stretching the white backdrop in front of the model on the floor, I get good skin tones and the golf club shaft looks really clean and chrome like. [image]1387239[/image]
