Interesting video here about Tatsuo Suzuki whose work can be compared to that of William Klein and Robert Frank;

Better known internationally is Daido Moriyama whose style is similar in some ways but perhaps more surrealistic;

Thanks for posting this, interesting stuff and interesting to see the Japanese version of street photography. Personally, I enjoyed Tatsuo Suzuki's work more than that of Daido Moriyama but your opinion may vary.

More about Daido Moriyama here;

Some time ago I saw a TV documentary about Moriyama in which he talked about his motivation and his acceptance of the inherent hazards of street photography.
"I've been punched and had my camera taken. That's to be expected"- Daido Moriyama. While photographing Tokyo nightlife, Moriyama has occasionally been subjected to violence. But while a willingness to take risks is clearly one reason for his success in his work, he also has the ability to imbue the everyday with aspects of the extraordinary.

It was interesting to see the similarities and differences between Japanese and British street photography. You get a feeling that the look is different but there is a similarity in city life.
I preferred Toshiki Yukawa's work, like the reportage style. Daido Moriyama was a little too abstract for me.

Video and pictures here of Toshiki Yukawa at work in Montreal, I don't think he has the ability level of Daido Moriyama just yet but he makes interesting videos, although titling one "My Struggle" is just a little disconcerting. He has a point when he says that photography can be frustrating at times.
